A virus wave held the public capital delhi on Thursday as the base temperature dropped to 3.8 degrees Celsius because of cool, dry westerly breezes dashing through the fields, the India Meteorological Department said.
In the fields, the IMD announces a virus wave if the base temperature plunges to 4 degrees Celsius. An extreme virus wave is the point at which the base is 2 degrees Celsius or less.
A virus wave had cleared the city on Tuesday, as well, with the base temperature dropping to 2.1 degrees Celsius, seven indents beneath typical.
An IMD official said cold wave conditionsare likely on Friday also. The base temperature is anticipated to settle around four degrees Celsius.
Delhi had recorded a chilly day on Sunday with the most extreme temperature dropping to 15 degrees Celsius, six indents underneath typical and the least this month.
On New Year's Day, the city had recorded at least 1.1 degrees Celsius, the most reduced for the month in 15 years.
