The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) has reserved 53 groups to handle conceivable delayed consequences of typhoon 'Tauktae' that is creating in the Arabian Sea, a senior official said on Friday.
NDRF Director General S N Pradhan said in a tweet that these groups are being sent in the beach front areas of Kerala, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat and Maharashtra.
Out of the 53 groups, he said, 24 have been pre-sent or positioned on the ground while the lay are ready and waiting.
A solitary NDRF group contains around 40 faculty and they are furnished with tree and post cutters, boats, essential clinical guide and other help and salvage types of gear.
According to the Indian Metrological Department (IMD) and warnings gave by a portion of these costal states, a pressing factor territory had framed over the southeast Arabian Sea and bordering Lakshadweep region on Thursday.
"It will pack into a downturn over a similar locale by Saturday morning and escalate into a cyclonic tempest during the ensuing 24 hours," the IMD said in the notice report.
It is probably going to strengthen further and move north-northwestwards Gujarat and bordering Pakistan coasts.
The warning said the cyclonic tempest is probably going to reach close to the Gujarat coast around May 18 evening.
The name 'Tauktae' has been given by Myanmar which signifies 'gecko'. This will be the primary cyclonic tempest of this current year along the Indian coast.
