A severe cold wave swept Delhi on New Year's, 14 years as sever cold wave persists

An extreme virus wave cleared Delhi on New Year's Day as the mercury dove to 1.1 degrees Celsius, the most minimal in 14 years, and "exceptionally thick" mist brought perceivability down to "zero" meters, influencing traffic development.


On January 8, 2006, the city had recorded at least 0.2 degree Celsius.


The least temperature recorded in January a year ago was 2.4 degrees Celsius, the India Meteorological Department (IMD) said.


Kuldeep Srivastava, the top of the IMD's territorial guaging focus, said "exceptionally thick" haze brought perceivability down to "zero" meters at Safdarjung and Palam at 6 am. continue reading….
