The Northern Railway is set to suspend grappler Sushil Kumar following his capture by the Delhi Police in a homicide case, a representative said on Monday.
A senior business administrator with the Northern Railway, Olympic medallist Kumar had been on nomination with the Delhi government since 2015 and was posted as an Officer on Special Duty (OSD) at Chhatrasal Stadium for advancement of sports at school level.
His delegation was reached out in 2020 and Kumar had applied for an expansion for 2021 also which had been dismissed by the Delhi government and he was sent back to his parent framework - Northern Railway - authorities said.
On the run for almost three weeks, Kumar was captured a day prior for his supposed contribution in the demise of a 23-year-old grappler at Chhatrasal Stadium, alongside co-denounced Ajay from external Delhi's Mundka region.
"The Railway Board has gotten a report looking into the issue on Sunday from the Delhi government. He has FIRs enlisted against him and he will be suspended," Northern Railway CPRO Deepak Kumar told PTI.
Authorities said that an authority request suspending the grappler will be given a few days.
Senior authorities said that if an administration worker is discovered engaged with egregious wrongdoings, the person is typically suspended till the case is in progress.
