Army Chief General Naravane on Tuesday visited eastern Ladakh and Siachen and checked on India's operational readiness in the deliberately key areas, official sources said.
He was joined by Lt Gen YK Joshi, Army Commander of the Northern Command, and Lt Gen PGK Menon, General Officer Commanding(GOC) of the Leh-based Fire and Fury Corps.
The sources said Gen Naravane connected with troops and praised them for their endurance and high assurance while being sent in the absolute harshest landscape, height and climate conditions.
The Chief of Army Staff was subsequently advised by Lt Gen Menon on the overall security circumstance and operational readiness around there. He is planned to get back to the public capital on Wednesday.
India and China were secured military deadlock at various grinding focuses in eastern Ladakh since early May a year ago yet they have finished withdrawal of troops and weapons from the North and South banks of Pangong lake in February following a progression of military and discretionary talks.
