The cross-line transport administration among Bangladesh and India continued on Friday, two years after its suspension because of the COVID-19 pandemic.
"Resumption of India-Bangladesh Cross-Border Bus Services! Transport administrations b/w India-Bangladesh by means of ICP Agartala-Akhaura and ICP Haridaspur-Benapole continued with the Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka transport being hailed off from Dhaka early morning today-a significant stage forward in upgrading reasonable, individuals driven network," tweeted High Commission of India in Bangladesh.
Tazul Islam, director of Bangladesh Road Transport Corporation (BRTC), had affirmed that the help would resume to The Daily Star on Thursday.
The advancement comes after the rail administration between the two nations continued on May 29. The train administration between the two nations was suspended since March 2020 considering the COVID-19 pandemic. Two trains travel among India and Bangladesh, Bandhan Express works among Kolkata and Khulna, Bangladesh while Maitree Express associates Kolkata with Dhaka.
With the exception of the Dhaka-Sylhet-Shillong-Guwahati-Dhaka course, administration on four different courses would continue from Friday and the principal transport would begin from Motijheel at 7:00 am, added Islam.
Before the suspension of administration, transports were worked on five cross-line courses: Dhaka-Kolkata-Dhaka, Dhaka-Agartala-Dhaka, Dhaka-Sylhet-Shillong-Guwahati-Dhaka, Agartala-Dhaka-Kolkata-Agartala, and Dhaka-Khulna-Kolkata-Dhaka, revealed The Daily Star.
The conversation over the activity of the fifth course is likewise going on, said a BRTC official.
