CBSE exam question deemed 'blatantly misogynistic' by Sonia Gandhi

Congress President Sonia Gandhi on Monday denounced the consideration of a "unmitigatedly sexist" entry in a CBSE Class 10 inquiry paper and requested a statement of regret from the Modi government.


Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Gandhi requested prompt withdrawal of the offensive inquiry and an audit into the "gravest pass".


In the Class 10 test led on Saturday, the English inquiry paper conveyed an appreciation section with sentences like "liberation of ladies annihilated the parent's power over the kids" and "it was exclusively by tolerating her better half's direction that a mother could acquire dutifulness over the more youthful ones", among others.


Looking for explanation on the issue raised by Gandhi, individuals from the Congress, DMK, IUML, NCP and National Conference left the House.
