consumer technology company OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei's Nothing raises $15 mn in Alphabet-led fund

Recently framed buyer innovation organization Nothing, a brainchild of OnePlus fellow benefactor Carl Pei, on Tuesday declared it has brought $15 million up in a Series A round drove by GV (previously Google Ventures), a funding speculation arm of Alphabet which is the parent organization of Google.


With new assets, the organization expects to grow its activities in Europe with central command in London and delivery its first keen gadgets in the coming months, it said in an explanation.


"We are appreciative to have an investment firm of this type help in building Nothing along with us," said Pei, CEO and fellow benefactor of Nothing.


"We plan to forcefully develop the organization, specifically our R&D and plan abilities, to understand our main goal of eliminating boundaries among individuals and innovation," Pei said.


London-based Nothing has so far raised more than $22 million. In December, the organization brought $7 million up in seed financing in December that included tech pioneers and financial backers, for example, Tony Fadell, Casey Neistat, Kevin Lin, Steve Huffman and Josh Buckley.


Kunal Shah, Founder, CRED, additionally put resources into Nothing, albeit the sum has not been revealed at this point.

"His vision for savvy gadgets is convincing, and we have high certainty that with Pei's worldwide attitude, the Nothing group will definitively affect the market for purchaser innovation."


Beginning this year, Nothing said it will bring back masterfulness, enthusiasm and trust to the field of shopper innovation.


The Swedish tech business visionary Pei had helped to establish OnePlus in 2013 at 24 years old.


After almost seven years, Pei made the "troublesome choice" of leaving the organization in October 2020.
