Delhi government will initiate the initial 100 electric buses on Friday, a Delhi government source said.
These electric transports will help in decreasing the contamination levels while supporting giving vehicle arrangements in the public capital.
"Congratulations Delhi! After a significant delay, model of DTC's first 100 percent Electric transport has arrived at Delhi! Hon'ble CM @ArvindKejriwal will before long banner off this Electric transport," Delhi Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot had tweeted on January 4.
In September, IANS had announced that the public capital will get its first armada of 300 electric transports in January 2022. Delhi Cabinet in March had supported a proposition for the commitment of 300 Low-Floor Fully Electric Air Conditioned transports by DTC under the Center's 'Quicker Adoption and Manufacturing of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles in India [FAME] Phase-II' Scheme.
In August 2020, Kailash Gahlot had said that Delhi will get upwards of 2,000 electric transports before the finish of 2021. Nonetheless, because of absence of framework, the rollout was deferred.
At present, there is an armada of 6,793 transports, of which 3,760 are controlled by the Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) and 3,033 are worked by the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System (DIMTS) Limited through the state transport office.
