"Everyone is human. There will be botches yet Rohit's record as skipper is exceptional. Five IPL titles, Asia Cup champ, he has won anything he has captained, so his record as skipper is extraordinary. Missteps will happen on the grounds that they are human," Ganguly said uninvolved of a special occasion.
Before the last match where he scored a red hot fifty against Kolkata Knight Riders, previous India chief Kohli likewise got through his most exceedingly terrible ever IPL with 236 runs from 13 innings which included three brilliant ducks.
Backing the pair, Ganguly said: "They are excellent players. I'm certain they will be back among runs. They play such a great deal cricket that on occasion they leave structure. Kohli played very well in the last game, particularly when it was expected for RCB.
"That is the reason he (Kohli) was glad to such an extent that RCB qualified. They are extraordinary players, it's inevitable they will be at their best," Ganguly added.
Chief Sharma, Kohli and senior pacer Jasprit Bumrah have all been refreshed from the five-match home T20I series against South Africa one month from now.
In Rohit's nonattendance, KL Rahul has been named as the skipper of the Indian group for the T20I series against the Proteas.
Rishabh Pant has disappointed particularly with his DRS deciding however Ganguly feels with time he would get to the next level.
"Try not to contrast Pant and MS Dhoni. Dhoni has such a lot of involvement, has captained in 500 or more games in IPL, Tests and ODIs. So it's ridiculous for Rishabh to be contrasted and Dhoni."
