IAF's flypast on Republic Day will be the largest and grandest ever, with 75 aircraft

The Republic Day march on the Rajpath this year will see the "most stupendous and biggest" flypast ever with an aggregate of 75 airplanes to stamp the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav festivities, an IAF official said on Monday.


The flypast will finish up with seven puma contender airplane flying in the "Amrit" development to honor the 75 years of Independence.


"The flypast this year will be the most stupendous and biggest with 75 airplanes from IAF, Army and Navy flying during the Republic Day march. This is in accordance with the Azadi ka Amrut Mahotsav festivities," IAF PRO Wing Commander Indranil Nandi said at a press preparation.


"The flypast will incorporate Tangail arrangement which will have one Dakota and two Dornier flying in Vic development. This is recognition for the Tangail air drop activities of the 1971 War. There will likewise be Meghna arrangement of 1 Chinook and four Mi-17s," he said.


The flypast will start with "Dhwaj" arrangement with four Mi-17 airplanes, trailed by "Rudra" and "Rahat" developments with 4 and 5 Advanced Light Helicopters (ALH), separately.


Among the other airplane that will show their strength at the motorcade are Rafale, Indian Navy's MiG29K, P-8I reconnaissance airplane and Jaguar contender jets.
