In Chhattisgarh's Sukma, a CRPF jawan kills four colleagues and injures seven

Four CRPF employees have been killed and 7 others injured after their colleague opened hearth at them even as they were drowsing in a camp in Chhattisgarh's Sukma district on Monday.


The accused jawan has been identified as Ritesh Ranjan.


As in step with the legitimate declaration, "In the preliminary investigation it has emerged that Ritesh Ranjan (accused CRPF jawan) upon getting equipped for responsibility, randomly opened fireplace on different personnel napping in the barrack."


However, the precise reason behind this incident is yet to be ascertained, an reputable statement from Sukma district police said.


Three of four Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel killed in the firing hail from Bihar, and one from West Bengal. They had been identified as Dhanji, Rajib Mondal, Rajmani Yadav and Dharmendra Kumar.


"Regret to inform that during a fratricide case CT/GD F.No. 1100110058 Ritesh Ranjan has opened fireplace on Company personnel in C/50 Lingalapalli underneath PS Maraiguda in early hours at approximately 3.15 A.M and within the incident 07 employees have been injured and without delay rushed to Bhadrachalam place health center for first aid," the CRPF stated in a statement.


Sources informed IANS that a group of senior CRPF officials, Inspector General (IG) Bastar together with Sukma district collector have reached the spot and similarly investigation turned into underway.


The incident took place around 3.30 a.M. At a camp of CRPF's 50th battalion deployed in Lingampalli village of Sukma, round four hundred km from the state capital Raipur.


Meanwhile, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel has expressed grief over the unlucky incident.


He (Baghel) has requested the law enforcement officials to take all important measures to ensure that such incidents do no longer recur, the chief minister's workplace said in a announcement.
