In the wake of Delhi's riots, Umar Khalid's bail hearing was adjourned until October 9

A Delhi courtroom on Thursday adjourned to October 9 listening to at the bail plea of former JNU scholar leader Umar Khalid inside the 2020 Delhi riots conspiracy case.


The listening to become adjourned to next month as Additional Sessions Judge Amitabh Rawat is on leave. This was informed to Khalid's counsels through the court docket group of workers thru video conference.


Khalid along side numerous others has been booked below the anti-terror regulation in the case. They are accused of being the "masterminds" of the February 2020 violence, which had left fifty three people useless and over seven hundred injured.


On September 6, Khalid had withdrawn his bail plea and filed a clean one after the prosecution's objected to its maintainability.


In a hearing on September three, Khalid, through his lawyer, told the courtroom that the fee sheet in the case has made hyperbolic allegations with none genuine foundation and reads like a script from an internet series and news channels.


The Delhi Police had in advance said that the bail plea has no merit and that it will reveal the prima facie case towards him before the court docket by way of regarding the fee sheet filed inside the case.
