India and Vietnam on Thursday agreed to work closely on key issues in the UNSC agenda

India and Vietnam on Thursday held reciprocal interviews on United Nations Security Council issues utilizing the VTC stage where the two sides consented to work intently together on main points of contention on the UNSC plan.


As indicated by a delivery by the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA), the Vietnamese appointment was driven by Do Hung Viet - Director-General, Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam alongside authorities from the Department of International Organizations, Department of Southeast Asia - South Asia - South Pacific of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Embassy of Vietnam at New Delhi and the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the UN.


Prakash Gupta, Joint Secretary (UNP and Summits) drove the Indian designation and was joined by authorities from the Southern Division of MEA, the Permanent Mission of India to the UN in New York and the Embassy of India in Hanoi.


"The two sides examined a wide scope of issues on the UNSC plan and informed each other on their UNSC needs," MEA said.


Vietnam would hold the Presidency of the UNSC in April 2021 and furthermore educated the Indian side regarding its Presidency activities.


"The two sides consented to work intently together on central points of interest on the UNSC plan," it added.
