Senior negotiator Pradeep Kumar Rawat was on Monday selected as India's next Ambassador to China.
An Indian Foreign Service (IFS) official of 1990 cluster, Rawat is presently filling in as Indian emissary to the Netherlands.
"He is relied upon to take up the task in a matter of seconds," the Ministry of External Affairs said in a short assertion.
Rawat will succeed Vikram Misri.
Rawat's arrangement comes amidst the waiting eastern Ladakh line stalemate.
He had before served in Hong Kong and Beijing.
Rawat filled in as Ambassador of India to Indonesia and Timor-Leste from September 2017-December 2020. He talks familiar Mandarin.
