Life in Puducherry is impacted by constant rain; schools and colleges are closed

Normal lifestyles become hit in Puducherry on Monday and academic establishments have been closed due to incessant rains beneath the impact of a cyclonic move inside the Bay of Bengal.


Puducherry, which has been receiving rains since the onset of the north-east monsoon, registered 6.1 cm rainfall over the last 24 hours ending eight.30 AM on Monday, PWD assets told PTI. Karaikal registered four.8 cm rainfall inside the same period.

Meanwhile, opposition DMK leader R Siva in a launch, claimed that the heavy rains had brought about the crumble of houses in numerous areas and demanded that the authorities make bigger a comfort of Rs 20,000 to each of these whose homes had collapsed.
