Mumbai Police book BJP's Somaiya, son in INS Vikrant crowd-funding scam

The Mumbai Police have enrolled an argument against Bharatiya Janata Party lobbyist Kirit Somaiya and his child Neil K. Somaiya regarding the claimed directing of around Rs 57 crore gathered through 'swarm financing' to save the decommissioned plane carrying warship Vikrant, here on Thursday.


The Trombay Police documented the case following a grumbling by a resigned Indian Army trooper Baban B. Bhosale, summoning Indian Penal Code Section 406, 420 and 34 against the dad child couple and others.

Prior, late on Wednesday, Bhosale joined by Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut and other party laborers went to Trombay Police Station to present the grievance on which the subsequent activity was started on Thursday.


Somaiya, alongside BJP partner Republican Party of India (A) activists had sent off assortment drives at significant spots in Mumbai to save Vikrant and vowed to surrender the sum to the then Governor K. Sankaranarayanan.


Naming them as 'backstabbers' Raut requested that Somaiya and BJP should answer whether the sum gathered in 2013-2014 for the sake of the development to save Vikrant was given to Raj Bhavan or not, and in the event that not, then, at that point, where has the sum gathered gone.
