Congress pioneer Rahul Gandhi on Monday paid accolades for Rohith Vemula on his passing commemoration, and said he stays an image of opposition and his legend.
"Rohith Vemula was killed by segregation and outrages against his Dalit personality," he said on Twitter.
"Indeed, even as years go by, he stays an image of opposition and his valiant mother an image of trust. For battling till the end, Rohith is my legend, my sibling who was violated," Gandhi additionally said.
Vemula, a 26-year-old Dalit understudy of the University of Hyderabad, passed on by self destruction on January 17, 2016 after supposed provocation.
His demise set off a cross country fomentation against casteism in establishments of higher learning.
