Resident medical doctors of Delhi's top 5 hospitals -- RML Hospital, Lady Harding Hospital, Safdurjung Hospital, LNJP Hospital and GTB sanatorium -- on Friday boycotted recurring services to protest delay inside the NEET PG 2021 Exam, affecting ill people badly.
The protest badly affected the OPD services for the fifth conseceutive day because of resident docs' strike in view that November 27.
"As the withdrawal of OPD services did now not deliver any concrete reaction from the authorities, because of insensitive response of governing bodies liable for the postpone in NEET PG 2021 counselling, we're pressured to boycott all recurring offerings at RML HOSPITAL (OPDS). Special Clinics, IPDs, Elective OTS) from December 3, onwards till the time our genuine grievances are not fulfilled," the letter by the Resident Doctor Association of RML hospital read.
Talking to IANS, Dr Sarvesh Pandey, RDA RML Hospital said, "Our consultation has already been not on time for 12 months and the resident medical doctors are overburdened since the outbreak of Covid-19. The listening to for the EWS quota is being behind schedule, we request apex court to represent a quick track courtroom to hear our issues and let it finalise at the earliest".
The OPD service on the RML sanatorium has in large part been affected due to the protest as no Resident docs are consulting the patients. The OPD carrier is being run with the aid of the professors. All the scientific services on the hospital had been affected except the emergency offerings.
Dr Manish Jhangra, General Secretary, Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA), stated: "Omicron variant has been detected in India and that is going to create some other strain for resident medical doctors across India as we already be afflicted by scarcity of medicos".
He said that if no concrete steps are taken for immediate final touch of NEET PG Counseling 2021, we are able to be pressured to take an intense and harsh choice for our protest, he introduced.
