The CBI on Sunday questions personal staffers of Anil Deshmukh

The CBI on Sunday addressed two individual staff members of previous Maharashtra Home Minister Anil Deshmukh regarding the charges of debasement leveled against him by previous Mumbai police chief Param Bir Singh, authorities said.

Deshmukh's own collaborator Kundan Shinde and individual secretary Sanjeev Palande were approached to show up before the CBI group regarding its continuous primer enquiry (PE) into the case following mandates of the Bombay High Court, they said.

The two of them were being addressed by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) at the DRDO visitor house in rural Santacruz, the authorities said.

Singh had in a letter claimed that Palande was available when Deshmukh purportedly asked suspended cop Sachin Waze to supposedly coerce over Rs 100 crore a month from bars and cafés of Mumbai, they said.

Waze, who was captured a month ago by the National Investigation Agency (NIA) regarding the instance of an explosives-loaded SUV found close to industrialist Mukesh Ambani's home, in his assertion had allegedly guaranteed Shinde was available during one such discussion.

The organization began its primer enquiry into the claims of pay off against Deshmukh on Tuesday on the sets of the great court.

It sent a group of officials from Delhi to Mumbai to complete the test.

The CBI has so far recorded articulations of Param Bir Singh, presently posted as the Director General of state Home Guards, Sachin Waze, DCP Raju Bhujbal, ACP Sanjay Patil, advocate Jayshree Patil, a solicitor, and lodging proprietor Mahesh Shetty.

Singh was moved from the post of Mumbai police chief to the Home Guards division on March 17.

Afterward, he recorded a request in the HC looking for a CBI test against Deshmukh, asserting the NCP pioneer had asked Waze and other cops to coerce Rs 100 crore from eateries and bars in Mumbai.

Deshmukh, who has denied the claims, left the bureau on April 5 after the HC request.
