The Defence Ministry on Friday cleared a mega task to build six conventional submarines for the Indian army at a value of round Rs 43,000 crore, a choice aimed toward narrowing the gap with developing naval prowess of China, authorities assets stated.
The decision became taken at a assembly of the Defence Acquisition Council (DAC) chaired by using Defence Minister Rajnath Singh.
The DAC is the Defence Ministry's maximum decision-making frame on procurement.
The assets stated the Request for inspiration (RFP) for the make-in-India challenge named 'P-75 India' could be issued soon.
The resources said the basis like specifications of the submarines and different crucial necessities for issuance of the RFP for the mega assignment has been completed via separate groups of the Defence Ministry and the Indian navy.
