The number of startups in India has risen to 65,861, says the government

"Supported government endeavors toward this path have brought about expanding the quantity of perceived new businesses from 726 in FY 2016-17 to 65,861 in FY 2021-22 (as on fourteenth March 2022)," Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal said in a composed answer to the Rajya Sabha.


He said that the perceived new businesses are spread across north of 640 areas and have detailed a making of in excess of seven lakh occupations with a normal of 11 positions being made by them.


The perceived new businesses, he said, are spread across 56 differentiated areas, for example, IT administrations, finance innovation, innovation equipment, endeavor programming, man-made consciousness, and nanotechnology.


Answering to an another inquiry, Minister of State for Commerce and Industry Som Parkash said that as on February 28 this year, the service has designated Rs 2,791.29 crore to SIDBI, which thusly dedicated Rs 6,795 crore to 82 Alternative Investment Funds (AIFs), while Rs 8,785 crore have been put by upheld AIFs in 574 new businesses.


"The Startup India Seed Fund Scheme (SISFS) means to give monetary help to new companies to confirmation of idea, model turn of events, item preliminaries, market passage and commercialization...Rs 945 crore has been designated under the plan for a time of four years beginning from 2021-22," he added.
