Australia settled plans on Tuesday to make Facebook Inc and Google pay its news sources for news content, a world-first move pointed toward ensuring free news-casting that has been unequivocally contradicted by the web goliaths.
Under laws to go to parliament this week, Treasurer Josh Frydenberg said the Big Tech firms must arrange installments for content that shows up on their foundation with nearby distributers and telecasters.
In the event that they can't strike an arrangement, an administration delegated mediator will choose for them.
