Melanie Hamilton of Savor and Yore is bringing a flavorfully cheesy dish from Georgia (the nation, not the state) to the 'Plans Around the World' series!


I've been living in Tbilisi—the capital of Georgia, for a little more than a year now. In this time, I've fallen rigid for Georgian food. While many rush to accept Georgian food is only a cousin to Russian cooking on account of their proximity and intertwined history—they're sadly off-base.

From fragments of eggplant covered in garlicky pecan sauce and pomegranate seeds to spiced hamburger stew stacked with pecans, spices, and garlic in abundance, there's continually something new to attempt. By a long shot, however, the group most loved is Adjarian Khachapuri. Hailing from Georgia's Adjara district, this rich, pungent, bread boat of cheddar is the stuff of dreams.
